Members and the public are invited to bring in their family clocks and watches to find out some of the history behind their timepiece and what the value might be. The museum will also be open.

Mark Hodermarsky – Local Author
Local author and book critic for the Plain Dealer will speak about the many books he has written or edited. Mark will speak about early Cleveland sports legacies, including The Toe: Lou Groza Story, The Object of the Game with St.Ignatius coach Chuck Kyle, musical group, The Animals: True Rock Royalty, as well as Beyond Trochenbrod: The Betty Gold story about her miraculous survival during the Holocaust. SHS will serve hot soup after the presentation. Don't miss this informative presentation.

Matt Liebson – Stamp Collecting
Solon resident Matt Liebson, membership committee chair for the American Philatelic Society, a national stamp collecting organization, with almost 30,000 members. Matt will give an introduction to stamp collecting, history of stamps, and how to's of acquiring and maintaining a collection. Some hands-on experience with stamps will also be part of the wonderful program. Bring a dessert to share.

Audubon Society of Greater Cleveland – Ohio Spring and Summer Bird Watching
Over 200 species of birds can be found in NE Ohio. Some are year-round and others just pass through on their way to the Boreal Forests of Canada. Others fly across the Gulf of Mexico non-stop to have their babies in our back yards. Get a close up look at 100 of the most common residents, migrants and breeding birds of NE Ohio and learn where and when to find them. 7th Annual Community Flea Market
Time to clean out your garage, attic and basement for items that you can sell to someone else. Sellers are asked for a $5 donation per parking spot to sell their treasures. Reservations are needed, please contact SHS President. Museum will be open 1:00 pm - 5:00 pm. NO rain date. Space is limited make your reservation soon.

Kevin Noon Sharpening service – A sharp knife is a safe knife!
Kevin Noon, The Environmentally Friendly Sharpener will visit the SHS again. He will sharpen knives (including serrated), scissors(including pinking), gardening tools, cooking tools, woodworking tools, sewing tools, salon tools and paper cutters. He uses a repurposed 1923 treadle adapted to spin wheels of differing grits. Using a foot powered treadle enables him to vary the speed of the wheels so that he can safely sharpen your items. Held at Mount Hope Cemetery – Solon Cemetery Stroll
Back by popular demand. Join us for a stroll through Mount Hope Cemetery to learn about Solon's ancestors, some famous and not so famous. After the stroll, the museum will be open and light refreshments will be served. Meet at Mt. Hope 30000 Miles Road presentation will start at 2:00. If adverse weather stories will be shared at the museum.

Corporal, Tim Krugman of the 30th Ohio Volunteer Infantry – Music of the American Civil War
Cpl. Tim Krugman of Elyria will entertain us with ballads of the blue and gray of the American Civil War. He will share how the music reflected the nation's mood from excitement to patriotic fervor to despair at the end of the war. Come join us for a song and then enjoy a ice cream sundae.
