Beyond the Monument – Local stories of Civil War veterans

Local author Veronica Hughes will speak about her book. It’s not about the Civil War-its a book about people. “A solider never dies until he is forgotten”, her book’s purpose is to “un-forget” the stories of 225 men who left a small Ohio town in 1861 to fight for a great cause. She talks about the individual courage and valor, of brothers and whole families.

The stories of selflessness, leadership and friendship, of soldiers 14-71 and the families they left behind.  Her books will be for sale. Stay for an Ice Cream sundae.
